There are heaps of fun things for kids to do at the Museum. In addition to our exhibitions, we put on special events, activities and workshops on weekends and school holidays.
To find out what's on now for kids and coming up soon at the Australian Museum see the What's on calendar.
Places Young Kids Love to Visit are exhibition based activities, designed specially for kids, will stimulate your child's curiosity, spark their interest in natural history and cultural diversity, and are just plain fun!
The Museum offers a number of tours especially for kids. Of particular interest is Creepy Crawlies, the Biodiversity Tour and the evening Torchlight Tours.
Every weekend the Museum offers hands-on creative activities for kids. These range from take-home, craft activities, to a fossil dig, to hand painting.
Lots of fun activities to download and print out - colouring in, cutting out, dot-to-dots, picture spinners, find-a-word and more.
We have lots to offer young children at the Australian Museum. Kidspace, an area specially designed for learning through play, 'Family Day' on Thursday mornings during term time and the 'Time to Play' workshops that are held four times a year are great favourites, and always book out quickly. Visit the Australian Museum's 5s and under site and have fun exploring what we have to offer!
