To Terence

Dear Terence, How are you? Are you happy and healthy? How's the weather down under? In the East Coast of the United States, we are having a terrible snowstorm. In the West Cost, we are having light rain, but mostly fair and sunny weather.

Have you met any Koala bears? They look so cute and cuddly. I wonder if Koalas can be house pets. I would love to have one.

I asked my dad what Australia is famous for. He smiled and said, "the Bee Gees and Paul Hogan." He sounded like he was only kidding. So, I'm asking you the same question. My dad wasn't kidding, though, when he said that his favorite science writer is an Australian. He has four books written by Paul Davies, a professor of Physics at the University of Adelaide.

I know something about Kangaroos and other marsupials, but I like to know more about the Great Barrier Reef. Can you tell me about those beautiful corals and species of fish along the Queensland Coast?

This is all for now. God bless you and Mr. Firminger.

Your Friend,
Grace de Lara

Terence

Dear Terence, How are you? How's Australia? Are you having fun? The other summer, my cousin John visited us. He's Australian. He told me a lot of things about Australia. He even gave me a kangaroo stuffed animal.

Is Australia really really big as he told me? He said they have to drive for days to reach another city and there are lots of kangaroos on the road. For this reason, lots of people own small planes. Have you seen a kangaroo or a koala yet? He said there are koalas in his backyard. John said Australia is surrounded by water, has rivers and lakes, and has lots of deserts. Is it hot there? Could you please tell me about its natural resources? He has told me about oil and minerals like coal, gold, iron, and lead.

Please give my regards to Mr. Firminger. God bless you!

Your Friend,
Stephanie

It was nice writing to you. Thank you for taking good care of Terence and making it famous. Mrs. Branigan said you will create a website for it.

Take good care of yourself, too. God bless!
