Conrad Lycosthenes (1518-1567), was a Swiss philosopher, theologian and professor of grammar, whose actual surname was Wolffhart; Lycosthenes is the Greek version of his name. Lycosthenes has been described as an alchemist and chronicler of inexplicable phenomena. His description of a fiery star in his book Prodigiorum ac ostentorum... has actually found its way into UFO literature.
