Find out more
One of our strangest books is Lycosthenes' Prodigiorum ac ostentorum... a chronical of the known world, describing unnatural, strange and portentous happenings, beginning with the Garden of Eden and following chronologically to the current year of publication, 1557. The book is illustrated by 1540 woodcuts by various artists, depicting comets, floods, fire, monsters, and pestilence of horrible proportions.
