
Tish Ennis first became interested in the research side of Museum work through the Australian Museum Society and was offered the opportunity to undertake fieldwork in Papua New Guinea.
In 1986 she began working as a volunteer in the Mammal section to assist with collections from Papua New Guinea while continuing to work as a registered nursing sister. In 1988, she took up the position as assistant to Dr Tim Flannery and later completed her Bachelor of Science (Zoology). She has held the position of Technical Officer in the Mammal section since 1992.
