Primary and Secondary Education Kits containing background information and activities were created for the temporary exhibition, Life Beyond the Tomb: death in ancient Egypt (which opened from 11 December 2004 to 22 May 2005). These may be downloaded and used by teachers and students. Although designed for use in the exhibition, these kits can be adapted as classroom worksheets or used for general information.
Life Beyond the Tomb: death in ancient Egypt showcased the spiritual beliefs of an ancient civilisation through artefacts, images and story. This fascinating exhibition gave students a unique opportunity to see mummies, coffins, jewellery, masks and much more. Told as the story of one woman's journey into the afterlife, it was presented at a level easily accessible to primary students. The Primary Education Kit offers a wealth of information and resources for teachers, including background information, a detailed exhibition guide including floorplan, and pre-visit and post-visit activities.
