snails and sea-slugs: molluscs

Helicarion

Helicarion sp. There are many species of helicarionid in Australia. These land snails range from species with large visible shells to slug-like species in which the shell is almost completely hidden. This species is common in south-eastern Australia. Very little is known about the biology of Australian helicarionids and there are probably many new species to describe (25mm).
