Find a Fish

Weedy Seadragon
Phyllopteryx taeniolatus Lacepède, 1804

Dear Mark.

Thanks for your help this morning regarding the preservation of the Weedy Seadragon. Please find a scanned copy of the fish.

Weedy Seadragon
The Weedy Seadragon collected by Cassie Beech at Copacabana.

The Dragon was found washed up on the shore by Cassie Beech on November 2nd at Copacabana Beach, on the N.S.W. central coast. Cassie is in year 4 at Woodport Primary School. She was on an excursion with Rumbalara Field Studies Centre learning about marine environments when she found the Dragon. Cassie was generous enough to donate the fish to Rumbalara so that other students would be able to have the opportunity to see this beautiful creature.
