Oarfish

These two Oarfish, photographed in December 1999 by W. Tait, were on a west coast beach of Isla Espiritu Santo. Isla Espiritu Santo is in the Sea of Cortez near La Pez, Mexico.

The larger fish is about 4m in length. The tail of the smaller fish is missing.

Another specimen reportedly washed up about 2 weeks earlier on an island north of Isla Espiritu Santo.
