Sunfish on rope and tackle
The Sunfish specimen (AMS I.2742) being hauled up the side of the ‘west wing’ of the Australian Museum. Criticism of the building’s design was aired at an enquiry into the administration of the building in 1874. Bringing large specimens into the building required the use of ropes and tackle to haul the specimen up the side of the building then inside through a window. Photo © Australian Museum.
