The Crowned Puffer is white with a brown saddle dorsally behind the eye and three saddles on the body. It resembles the Saddled Puffer but has orange spots and blue makings on the margins of the saddles.
The Crowned Puffer grows to 14cm in length.
It occurs in tropical (and some temperate) marine waters of the Indo-West and Central Pacific.
In Australia it is known from the central coast of Western Australia, around the tropical north and south to the New South Wales south coast.
