On 1 September 2005 sixteen students, led by Ms Julie-Anne Harty visited the Australian Museum to learn more about the Australian Museum, its history, collections and the uses to which they are put.
The group was conducted on a tour through the two ‘fishy’ levels of the Spirit House and the tank area by the Fish Collection Manager, Mark McGrouther.
The students are in their second year of a Marine and Sustainable Resource Management degree at the University of Newcastle (Ourimbah campus). Their lecturer is Dr Bill Gladstone. Students from this course have been taken on tours annually for the last six years.
