Dr Leonard Compagno from the South African Museum, Cape Town is currently working in the Fish Section.

Dr Compagno is an internationally recognised expert in shark taxonomy.

He is examining the types of several species of catsharks and dogsharks held in the Australian Museum Fish Collection.

Dr Compagno started work at the Museum on March 13, 2003 and travels to San Francisco on March 20. He returned to the Australian Museum for further work on April 8 and 9.
