The Fish Department - Fieldwork

On our return trip up the Luzon coast to Manila we wrapped specimens in moistened cheesecloth prior to sending them to the collections of the relevant museums. The image shows Jeff Williams, Mark Westneat, Jerry and Mark McGrouther wrapping specimens on the front deck of the Mary Chris.
Upon returning to Manila we compiled a list of all the fish species that were sampled during the expedition. Copies were given to the Bureau of Fisheries and to the University of the Philippines for use in their environmental management and research.
