This Black Sole, Brachirus nigra, was collected at a depth of 1 m, from a sandy channel at the mouth of Cudgera Creek, Hastings Point, 11 December 2002 (AMS I.41874-006).

The Black Sole often lies buried in sand during the day. This behaviour combined with its colouration makes the fish extremely difficult to spot.
