Larval Fish Research at Lizard Island Research Station
On the first four trips a series of artificial reefs, made from rope and plastic baskets, were used to study settlement behaviour of fish larvae. The 'reefs' were roughly 1km from a natural reef and were placed at a depth of 15-20m.
