Larval Fish Research at Lizard Island Research Station
Larval fishes were released at study sites around Lizard Island for underwater observations. One at a time, a larva was released and followed for 5-20 minutes. The leading diver had the dual role of keeping the fish in view and indicating swimming direction to the second diver, who recorded data.
