Living Colour Exhibition
The whole world is rendered meaningful to us and many other animals in colour. Predators and prey alike use colour and patterns to play out daily survival rituals. Chameleons, cuttlefish and some octopi can change colour in response to a whole range of stimuli, and there are groups of animals and plants who live in an other whole world of colour of which humans are not a part. Scientific experiments suggest that colour can have direct effects on human psychology as well as measurable physiological effects. Colour awakens us to the world in which we really live.
The exhibition, Living Colour, includes over 25 interactive and activity components for families and adult visitors. Living Colour is open at the Australian Museum between Saturday 18th March and Sunday 16th July 2000. The Australian Museum is currently taking national and international bookings.
The Australian Museum wishes to extend its sincere appreciation to Scienceworks museum in Melbourne for their generous collaboration during the development of this Australian Museum touring exhibition.
