Using Specimens from the Collection
Obtaining samples from the tissue collection is a straight froward process, and aims to maximise the benefit drawn from the collection.
Researchers should determine the specimens that they require by making an enquiry with the DNA Laboratory Manager in the first instance.
Each application is considered on its merits, and will be filled at the discretion of the Tissue Collection Manager. Upon receiving the completed Specimen Licence Agreement, the tissues will be shipped. For local and international requests of specimens in alcohol, no couriering fee is levied. Shipping specimens on dry ice is at the expense of the researcher. International researchers who request CITES listed material must demonstrate that appropriate customs arrangements are made prior to the samples being sent.
