Sleek Geeks Science Prize – Not Just For Kids
Sunday, February 3, 2008
$5,000 is on offer for the first time to University students in this year's University of Sydney Sleek Geeks Science Eureka Prize.
Communicating scientific ideas and discoveries to the world is a tricky task.
The Sleek Geeks Eureka Prize is awarded for a short film that communicates a scientific concept in a way that is accessible and entertaining to the public.
Finalists will share in cash prizes, plus receive a trip to Sydney to take part in (our version of) the Sleek Geeks Science Short Film Festival.
For prize details go to Sleek Geeks Science - University.
And check out how the pros do it. The original Sleek Geeks, Dr Karl Kruszelnicki and Adam Spencer, enlighten thousands of Australians each week with their popular Sleek Geek show which aired on ABC TV.
The Sleek Geeks Science Prize has categories for Primary, Secondary and University Students.
The prize is proudly sponsored by the Faculty of Science, University of Sydney, and is supported by Abbeys Bookshop, Sydney, Microsoft and ABC Science Online.
