This is an issue which is likely to involve everyone in the community sooner or later, and about which there is great need for more awareness, informed discussion and wide debate. The conference is timely as Commonwealth/State negotiations are under way to consider how to regulate gene technology, and government is interested in taking the citizen panel's views into consideration.  |
