Vertebrate Collections: Ornithology
Ornithology is the study of Birds. Common birds many of us are familiar with include eagles, gulls, penguins and cockatoos.
Birds are warm-blooded animals that have:
- feathers
- forelimbs modified as wings
- scales on their legs and feet
- a bill without teeth
- young by laying hard shelled eggs
