Mamenchisaurus is named after Mamen Brook, in Sichuan where it was first found. Mamenchisaurus youngi was a sauropod belonging to the Chinese family Euhelopodidae, a group of massive dinosaurs that lived from the Late Jurassic to the Early Cretaceous.
