
Inland Forest Bat
Family: Vespertilionidae
Scientific name: Vespadelus baverstocki
Where they roost:
Hollows in old trees that are extremely small and in trees that may be only a few metres high. Sometimes abandoned buildings. Colonies from a few to more than 50.
What they eat:
Poorly known, but includes moths.
Conservation threats:
Vulnerable to loss of roost sites in tree hollows and loss of feeding grounds by forestry activities, extensive clearing of vegetation and land degradation from agriculture.
Other information:
They live in many different habitats across inland Australia from savanah to woodlands.
