Torresian Flying-fox

Scientific name: Pteropus sp.

Where they roost:
These bats roost in rainforest trees.

What they eat:
Torresian flying-foxes are thought to eat rainforest fruits and are likely to be important dispersers of seeds on the only rainforested island in the Torres Strait.

Conservation threats:
Unknown

Other information:
They are found only on Moa Island. They are well-known to residents of Moa but have only recently discovered by scientists.
