Greater Long-eared Bat

Family: Vespertilionidae
Scientific name: Nyctophilus timoriensis

Where they roost:
Hollows in old trees, and under loose bark.

What they eat:
Possibly moths and beetles.

Conservation threats:
Vulnerable to loss of tree hollows and loss of feeding grounds by forestry activities, clearing for agriculture and land degradation.

Other information:
Very little is known about these bats. This is the largest species of Long-eared bat.
