Scientific name: Mormopterus sp. (unnamed by science)

Where they roost:
South western mastiff bats have been found roosting in tree hollows.

What they eat:
Their diet is not known.

Conservation threats:
Vulnerable to loss of tree hollows and loss of feeding grounds by forestry activities, clearing for agriculture and housing.

Other information:
These bats have been found in a variety of habitats from tall forests to open woodland, mallee and coastal heathland, yet little is known about their natural history.
