Torresian Tube-nosed Bat

Family: Pteropodidae
Scientific name: Nyctimene cephalotes

Where they roost:
They have been observed roosting in rainforest and mangrove trees.

What they eat:
Their diet in Australia is not known but they possibly eat fruit and insects as they do elsewhere.

Conservation threats:
Vulnerable to habitat destruction.

Other information:
In Australia, Torresian flying-foxes are known only from Moa Island in Torres Strait, but they are widespread in Indonesia and less common in Papua New Guinea.
