I studied at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and have been employed as an Ichthyology Collections Technician at the Bishop Museum from 1990 to the present.
My research interests include evolutionary biology of marine fishes, with particular emphasis on systematics, biogeography, hybridization, and mimicry; exploration of deep coral reefs using advanced diving technology.
My work with the Bishop Museum has lead me on survey and exploratory trips in the Hawaiian Islands, Line Islands, Ogasawara Islands, and Micronesia.
